Everyday many cats suffered some sort of eye problems to be seen within 24 hours. The cause of cat's eye problem are many cause such as bacteria, viruses, environment, etc. You can usually have an appointment with the veterianarian, every 6 months or every year, for checking your cat's health. Early diagnosis and treatment can prevent your cat from problems.


Cat's Eye Problem

 

1. Conjunctivitis 

Conjunctivitis is the most common eye infection in cats. This problem have a number of cause. Conjunctivitis is one or both of cat's eye will look red and swollen, and there may be discharge. The cause is usually wind, allergens, dust, etc. The way to treatment is reduce cat's exposure to irritants by relocating living area, keep dust and allergens, providing appropriate shelter. 2. Keratoconjunctivitis or Dry eye

3. Retinal disease

4. Keratitis

5. Cataract

Cataract is a clouiness in the retina which prevents light.  It ofen seen in elderly and diabetic cats. But it can be corrected by surgery.

 

6. Glaucoma

Glaucoma can occur when there is pressure in the eyeball. There will be tearing, squinting and redness with the affected pupil appearing larger and harder when pressed on. In addition it can lead to blindness. You should take him to see the veterinarian for checking abnormal cat's eye symptom.

 

7. Blindness

Blindness is the symptom that your cat can't see. The bahaviors of your cat that describe he blind include rubbing, squinting, confused about his surroundings, missing jump that he can before. The symptoms include your cat's eye don't respond to light, look cloudy and inflame, tearing.
