Signs of Fish Disease

Many signs that you should consider because it's first indication of problems or fish disease. The main signs to watch.

1. Symptoms of illness is main signs that you can observe such as :

  • Loss of normal color
  • Ulcers which sometimes appear as small raised lumps
  • A white, cotton-like tuft on the mouth
  • Folded, closed fins
  • Livestock losses
  • Stop eating
  • Irregular movement
  • Jumping Out

2. Environmental of aquarium changes

  • Water problem : poor water quality, cloudy water, water have a strange and strong smell
  • Inappropriate Tank Mates
  • Poor expansion in corals and the dealth of plants
  • Inappropriate Water Temperature
  • The algae abnormal incresed

The Necessary Equipment

1. Aquarium Water Test kits

Test kits is equipment which necessary to measure and maintain proper aquarium water parameters. This testing is only accurate way to be certain water parameters are within an acceptable range. Test kits have many brand which you can choose. The best test kits should be quality and always on hand. In general it should include tests for Ammonia and nitrite, pH, Nitrates, Phosphates and a Hydrometer which it's a saltwater aquarium.

2. Water changing equipment

You should keep it easily accessible. The water changing equipemnt is many types such as Siphon hose, Buckets or garbanges cans large enougn to hold at least 25% of water capacity, Heater and Thermometer, Power head or air pump, Dechlorinator ,etc.

3. Air Check Valves 

It's necessary. This allows air to flow one way, preventing the escaping pressure in the hose from starting a siphon if the power goes out.

4. Aquarium-safe sealant

Sealant can be applied while the tank is still wet, a boon in particularly large of delicate setrups

5. Chemical medias

In general it use for emergency situations and general maintenance such as Activated carbon or organic removing resin, Ammonia neutralizing medias, Phosphate and Nitrate adsorbing media, Toxic metal, pH buffer and spare  media bags ,etc.

6. Hospital tank or Quarantine tank

Hospital tank is essentially a back-up tank that you can use to quarantine fish. It's a seperate tank  in which sick fish can be isolated from the main tank pupulation while undergoing treatiment. This tank is generally small, so it's easy to medicate the water more than the main tank, and often has no decorations or substrate. In additon this area for quarantining new fish before acclimating them to the main display. One of the Eclipse syetems ranging in size from 2 gallons up to 12 is an excellent option.This system will need to have a heater and thermometer for reducing stress on the fish.

7. Medication

When you fish has illness, Three things to remember: Don't Panic, have a towel and handy. The importance treatment include Furanase, Erythromycin, and Copper.
